Alexandra (Lexi) Nemeth: “DROPS” (2005)

“Drops” is part of my vision, the realization of my dreams reflecting in the dew or raindrops together with the hidden messages from our natural world. The series of close-up photographs, reflections, forms, shapes, and colors, create a dreamy,  magical series of photographs.

Photography is painting with light. I look for those situations in our natural environment when the light causes some special effects, and I look for all of the possibilities which able to show the light differently. I like to be out in the fields in the early mornings when the dew covers the plants and the tiny dewdrops form tiny lenses. If we look through nature’s lenses from a special angle, we can see the whole world upside down in them. What a magical world! Similarly, I like to photograph in pouring rain or after rain, when raindrops cover all of the vegetation. I feel and hear the flowers talk, and I try to capture these intimate moments with my macro lens. Each photograph captures rare, hard-to-see moments, and translates them into a communication form.
