Laszlo and Lexi selected images at the “Houston Photographic Society: Images” exhibition at the Houston Central Library

The Houston Photographic Society (HPS) had a photography exhibit at Houston Central Public Library (Link) during FOTOFEST 2020, but unfortunately, the library had to close a week later due to COVID.  After being closed for 1 ½ year and the library is reopening this fall. Our HPS Member Dwight Theall contacted the Library and coordinated with Library exhibition director Jason Stephens a second exhibition there. The exhibition setup was on September 1, 2021. The library will reopen to the public on September 7, 2021, but the plaza renovations will not be completed until early October when they plan to have a grand opening (Link) activity with the mayor, other speakers, entertainment, and the “Houston Photographic Society: Images” exhibit.

Forty-four images represent the work of Houston Photographic Society Members: Jerry Clark, Robert Davis, Myriam Fornage, Chul-Sung Kim, Anatoliy Kosterev, Lexi Nemeth, Laszlo Perlaky, George Phile, Dwight Theal, and James Woody. 

The exhibit will be in place at the library until January 2022.

He is a retired research scientist, past faculty member of Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Cancer Center. As a volunteer, he led his Photo walks at Brazos Bend State Park for 30 years. He is an active photographic instructor at Houston Photographic Study Group and Houston Center for Photography., elected board member of Lost Pines Art League and Bastrop County Audubon Society. He has successfully participated and been awarded in national and international photography contests, solo and group exhibitions. His images were published in magazines, books, calendars, and presented at major art festivals and auctions.
