The Houston Photographic Society (HPS) had a photography exhibit at Houston Central Public Library (Link) during FOTOFEST 2020, but unfortunately, the library had to close a week later due to COVID. After being closed for 1 ½ year and the library is reopening this fall. Our HPS Member Dwight Theall contacted the Library and coordinated with Library exhibition director Jason Stephens a second exhibition there. The exhibition setup was on September 1, 2021. The library will reopen to the public on September 7, 2021, but the plaza renovations will not be completed until early October when they plan to have a grand opening (Link) activity with the mayor, other speakers, entertainment, and the “Houston Photographic Society: Images” exhibit.
Forty-four images represent the work of Houston Photographic Society Members: Jerry Clark, Robert Davis, Myriam Fornage, Chul-Sung Kim, Anatoliy Kosterev, Lexi Nemeth, Laszlo Perlaky, George Phile, Dwight Theal, and James Woody.
The exhibit will be in place at the library until January 2022.
If you are in the Downtown area of Houston, stop by the Central Public Library and enjoy the exhibit. Laszlo and Lexi exhibited these images there:
