Laszlo Received His 30 Years Volunteer Service Award at Brazos Bend State Park

Laszlo as Volunteer Emeritus received his 30 years Volunteer Service award on the 2021 Volunteer Picnic and Appreciation Meeting at Brazos Bend State Park, TX. The Organizers prepared the tables and the delicious food around 5 PM in the Dining Hall on October 9, 2021. The Volunteers met there, and the official group photo was taken at 5:15 P.M. My wife Lexi took an unofficial snapshot during that event, for our own memories.

After the group photo, we all enjoyed the great picnic, delicious food, and sweets. Because the COVID-19 Pandemic is not over, we ate outside at the bench and wore a KN95 mask to protect ourselves and the others. The highlight of the meeting was the Volunteer Service Awards presented by Montse Canedo, Park Ranger (Park Interpreter/Volunteer Coordinator). The BBSP Volunteer Organization gave a big thank you to all of the Volunteers for their hard work during the years. Laszlo received his 30 years of Volunteer Service Award. He was so touched by the past years and all of the gift what he received from the Park. With his tear-full eyes, Laszlo remembered to all of the passed away Volunteers and said thank you for their dedicated work to help Brazos Bend State Park and the other Volunteers to be better educators and naturalists. 30 years is a long time… Dennis, Jane, and Sharon were Laszlo’s first volunteer educators in 1991. They encouraged and supported Laszlo to start his monthly Photo-walks. During the past 30 years, Laszlo led 290 free photography workshops for the Park Visitors. Unfortunately, the challenging time caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic and the fact Laszlo and Lexi moved from Houston to Bastrop, after 30 years of dedicated service, Laszlo discontinued this program. Additional to his 30 Years of Service Award, Laszlo received his Volunteer Emeritus Award in 2011 and Excellence Award in 2005.
