Laszlo held his Houston Center for Photography (HCP) organized, Three Parts Bird photography Workshop on October 22, (Part 1, Introduction, Bird Photography Basics), on Ocrober 27, (Part 2, Field Trip, on location photography at North Jetty, Bolivar Peninsula) and on October 29, (Part 3, Image discussion, critique).
The weather was beautiful, the NOAA tide prediction was perfect, and the birds were there. This time, of the year, the Monarch Butterfly migration goes through this area and we were able to see and photograph them on yellow flowering shore vegetations. The group met at Port Polivar Ferry Landing and we drove together to the North Jetty. Low tide was at 12 PM and we were there around 2:30 PM. The tide slowly but surely increased, carrying food for the birds and causing nice bird flock movements. We all enjoyed the outing, photographed several shore bird and wading bird species. At sunset the light was great and we were happy there.
Enjoy few of my images taken yesterday at the North Jetty. I will show these images during Part 3, after my Participants’ image discussion.
