Laszlo’s in Progress New Works on “Big Old Live Oaks”
The several hundreds of years old Live Oak (Quercus Virginiana) trees are not just magnificent natural wonders, but strong supporters of our clean air. We are so happy to see them striving in their established location. With its lustrous, dark, semi-evergreen leaves and gracefully spreading branches, the live oak is beautiful. The live oak is a tough, strong, decay-resistant species that has an exceptionally long life expectancy as a result. Our good friend, forester Daniel Lewis, showed us a few old giants nearby, and I started to visit those trees, watched them, and built a friendship with them before I tried to photograph them with my large format film camera. Enjoy a few of my images.
